![]() ![]() It's a lot to live up to, and I hope it meets your expectations. The credits at the bottom of the page highlights this in more detail. KSPRC's surface textures, Stock Visual Enhancement's storms, Better Atmosphere's glow, Astronomer's colors, it's all there. Nostalgic veterans: Many visual packs have risen and fallen over the years, and in making Spectra I'm taking the best concepts of each, expanding on them, and then applying them to an updated visual pack reminiscent of old. This adds visual effects and no more, meaning it runs exactly the same as an un-modded game. Stock part purists: Spectra does not effect the stock parts, colliders, or physics. In terms of pure FPS values, it's a dead tie with SVE.įilm makers: This pack is my interpretation of the greatest visuals in KSP. It runs very well on a high end system and there are ways to squeeze out extra performance as well if need be. Table of Contents 1) How to install mods 2) Graphics 2. GitHub - KSP-RO/RSSVE: A visual enhancement pack for the Kerbal Space Program RealSolarSystem. Spectra CKAN Complete stock system visual revamp: New terrain textures rocks and trees, multi-layer volumetric clouds, lightning, bioluminescence, geysers, and more. Spectra is designed with these players in mind: Skip across the dust on Minmus, Pol, and Vall. Soar across Laythe's glittering bioluminescent sky. Fly through the geysers on Minmus and Eeloo. A well optimized and yet breathtakingly beautiful revamp of all celestial bodies in KSP. Spectra is an ultimatum of a visual pack. I imagine you are in for a lot of restarting the game until you nail the look/performance you want. All extras are installed by opening the header and placing the contents inside of GameData/Spectra inside the Spectra folder. The Sc-fi one I use is actually aimed at lower end compuers, but regardless I just love it's style myself, fits KSP's cartooney look. I'm pretty sure I can go to 24.ġ6 should be plenty I'd think, but you'll obviously have to do some play testing yourself. I'm thinking the first one, because I only have the 16 gigs of ram. ![]() Then here's Scifi Visual Enhancements which I use, makes Minmus glow bright green like it's radioactive. The most commonly used EVE pack I know of SVE which has a more realistic look: To install better planet or terrain textures download SVT or Stock Visual Terrain and extract it inside the gamedata folder. How things look will depend on which config you use, here's an example comparison. Adds clouds to planets with atmo like Kerbin or Laythe. Yeah, it's called EVE but that's Enviromental Visual Enahancements, not "Eve" the planet lol. If you get close, you can even see the nuts. Clouds for Kerbin, too? How about Minmus? In my current version, it looks like a scoop of pistachio ice cream. ![]() CKAN is a tool for easily installing and managing mods. Download the latest ckan.exe and place it in the KSP folder. I don't actually use most of them cause my current computer is a potato! Getting an upgrade soon myself though, next week or so hopefully! Steps Start with a clean install of KSP (basically the KSP\GameData folder should only have an untouched Squad folder in it) to avoid any issues with existing mods. ![]() Those are all the ones I know of I think. Windowshine (Realt-time window reflections) Stock 100T Capable SSTO Carrier Spaceplane. Texture replacer+custom hi-res ground textures/custom skybox's (Self-explanatory.) How do you install Stock visual enhancements Juggernoob SSTO Spaceplanes. Distant object enhancement (See stuff further away, including planets!) EVE (And one of it's config mods like SVE) (Clouds and lot's of other stuff) Scatterer (Light scattering and refraction) Originally posted by Chibbity:-Planetshine (Adds reflected light off a planet's surface so the bottom of your ship would be lit blue by Kerbin, or green by Minmus for example.) Then they can add either Astronomers Visual Pack OR Spectra OR Stock Visual Enhancements. ![]()
